General ultrasound
General USG Section of CRDM, it is equipped with state-of-the-art modern equipment and staffed by highly qualified physicians with extensive professional experience.
The following ultrasound examinations are performed in the department:
- Urinary system;
- Gynecological examination;
- Prostate, scrotal organs;
- Thyroid gland;
- Mammary glands;
- Soft tissues and lymph nodes;
- Great vessels (aorta, inferior vena cava).
- Abdominal organs (liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen);
Currently, based on the main method, additional investigative techniques are being carried out:
- Doppler technique for assessing blood flow in organs and tumor formations;
- Elastography to determine the elasticity (density) of tumor formations, which is a determining factor in the differential diagnosis between benign and malignant formations;
- Liver elastography to determine the degree of fibrosis of liver tissue in case of diffuse pathologies (hepatitis and liver cirrhosis) - SWE technique.
Recommendations for preparing for the ultrasound examination:
For examination of abdominal cavity organs, Doppler of renal arteries / portal system - it is mandatory for the patient to be fasting;
examination of the urinary system – without preparation;
gynecological and prostate examination by transabdominal method – with a full bladder;
Gynecological examination by transvaginal and transrectal prostate (TRUS) method – the bladder should not be full.
